(BEDFORD) - A Heltonville man is behind bars after he allegedly threatened to shoot a woman.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News, Twenty Four Year Old Matthew Yates of Heltonville, broke into a house causing the man inside to wake up to the sight of a gun pointed at him.
Yates asked where his wife was, saying she owed him money.
After the victim contacted police with the information, Lawrence County Sheriff Deputies found Yates in his vehicle in the 600 block of Roberts Lane with a loaded 9mm handgun as well as pills, money and a cell phone taken from the victim.
Yates was lodged in Lawrence County Jail charged with residential entry, theft, intimidation, and pointing a gun at a person.
