(EDINBURGH) - A tornado passed from Camp Atterbury into Edinburgh and down Indiana 252 Tuesday night.
There were reports of minor injuries and many roads closed because of downed power lines and tree limbs. The twister ripped a gas pump from the ground and threw it onto a car.
A spokesman at Camp Atterbury says he believes several funnel clouds moved through the area. Lieutenant Anthony Buchanan says there is damage to several buildings, downed power lines and a gas leak they were working to repair.
Buchanan says he and other military personnel were working out in the gym when the storm hit and, following procedure, took shelter in the bathroom. He says they will take steps to get accountability for the more than 4,000 soldiers and marines who are training on the installation.
