(BEDFORD) - Bedford police have an 18-year-old man in custody after they say he severely beat a 16-year-old acquaintance.
In what is being referred to, at the beginning at least, as "typical teenage male behavior," Bedford Police Assistant Chief Dan Kirk tells WBIW News the 16-year-old victim walked in on 18-year-old Christopher Ragan of Bedford and his girlfriend and confronted him about earlier comments made.
After a verbal altercation, Ragan allegedly jumped on top of the 16-year-old and started pounding him in the face repeatedly.
When the victim was taken to Bedford Regional Medical Center, police were called and made contact with Ragan and took him into custody on charges of illegal consumption of alcohol and battery causing bodily injury, and lodged him in the Lawrence County jail.
