(BLOOMINGTON) - In the 8th fatality on South Centrail Indiana roads, an Indianapolis biker is dead near Lake Monroe in southern Monroe County.
Monroe County Sheriff's Department officials say 43-year-old Bryan Jackson of Indianapolis died when his rear wheel locked up shortly after passing Lake Monroe Village before entering a turn, throwing Jackson off the bike.
Jackson and the bike tumbled almost 190 feet before coming to a rest near Fairfax Road. Chief Deputy Scott Mellinger says it isn't clear why Jackson attempted to stop so suddenly, and the Sheriff's Department and Coroner's Office are continuing to investigate the incident.
Other fatalities have occurred in Monroe, Morgan, Lawrence, Jackson, Clark and Brown Counties this July.
