(BEDFORD) - Bedford police officers took one Boogier into custody early Sunday morning on a number of violent charges.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News an off-duty officer was at the ABATE Boogie when a 36-year-old woman who had been bloodied approached him and reported she had been locked into a trailer, beaten and strangled.
Medical technicians checked her out and found bruising and signs of having been battered all along her body, and the woman pointed her finger at 36-year-old Brandon Sims of Indianapolis.
Sims was taken into custody facing charges of domestic battery, invasion of privacy, criminal confinement and strangulation.
Despite the common image of large gatherings of bikers, Chief Parsley says the Boogie crowd, overall, wasn't much trouble as they seemed to have policed themselves for the most part.
