(BEDFORD) - A Springville woman is in jail after allegedly altering a prescription at the Wal-Mart pharmacy.
Bedford Police Assistant Chief Dan Kirk tells WBIW News 34-year-old Holly Andis of Springville dropped off a script at the Wal-Mart pharmacy drive through which raised suspicions at the pharmacy.
Pharmacy officials called the medical center which confirmed the prescription had been altered. What raised suspicions, and eventually bore out, was that Andis allegedly changed her prescription from 50mg of Ultram, an opiod analgesic, to 50mg of Lortab, a hydrocodone medication.
The suspicious part?
Even 40mg of Lortab, according to the Physicians' Desk Reference, is dangerous for anyone not already tolerant of hydrocodone.
Andis was charged with prescription fraud and lodged in the Lawrence County jail.
