(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County deputies had a hard time catching up with a four-wheeler on holly drive Sunday, but eventually made their catch.
Monroe County Chief Deputy Scott Mellinger says an officer was on routine patrol when he spotted a 4-wheeler and went to pull it over for traffic violations.
However, the 4-wheeler took off and went off road where the officer couldn't follow, but he did find a biker who was riding with the suspect.
Eventually, officers would see the ATV again, but it would escape off road until nearby residents called saying a man they didn't recognize was walking between yards. After a brief foot pursuit, officers grabbed 31-year-old Herschel Sparks and said he was the ATV driver, and took him into custody.
Sparks was lodged in the Monroe County jail facing both felony and misdemeanor charges of resisting arrest and a misdemeanor trespass charge as well.
