(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County deputies had a bit of a nerve-wracking standoff Monday night.
County officials say they were called to a Stuart Road home Monday night about two brothers in a dispute where one threatened the other with a broken liquor bottle.
When deputies arrived at the mother's home, where both brothers live, deputies tried to get the suspect out but had no success.
Officers say the man poked out the door a couple times with one hand behind his back looking as if he had a weapon, but remained inside. Eventually, a negotiator from the Monroe County Sheriff's Department arrived and would talk him out, and he was taken to Bloomington Hospital in emergency detention.
No names have been released as of yet since he is reportedly still in the hospital, and because he gave officers one name and his mother gave them another.
