(INDIANAPOLIS) - If you’ve ever wondered what a “Golden Hoosier” might look like, one need travel no farther than Mitchell.
Bedford native and Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman and Secretary of Family and Social Services Mitch Roob recognized 17 senior Hoosiers at the Governor's Mansion for their volunteer work.
One of those Golden Hoosiers was Wanda Ranger from Mitchell. Ranger was recognized for her volunteer work at a local hospice and hospital and for her work at a local food bank, making sure Lawrence County residents have what they need.
Skillman says Ranger is working to help build a stronger Indiana.
Two other area residents were also recognized with "Golden Hoosier" awards, including David White of Bloomington, and Barbara Garton of Columbus.
