(BRAZIL) - About 30 people are facing charges in connection with a five-county drug sweep centered in western Indiana.
Dozens of officers took part in the sweep, with most of the arrests made in Clay County. All of the arrests Tuesday took place without incident.
Clay County Sheriff Mike Heaton says most of the arrests were for dealing methamphetamines, but marijuana and prescription drugs were also involved. He says authorities tried to serve about 40 arrest warrants -- and more arrests were expected.
Warrants also were issued for people living in Vigo, Parke, Hendricks and Monroe Counties.
Clay County Prosecutor Lee Reberger says the sweep was the result of a two-year long covert drug investigation which began with information gathered during a large drug sweep in 2006.
