(BEDFORD) - A pair of battery complaints has a Bedford man in jail and another under investigation Saturday.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News officers were called to a fight report between a 44-year-old Bedford man and 47-year-old Thomas Bray, also of Bedford.
Bray showed signs of having been beaten along the head, neck and facial areas and signed a battery affidavit against the other man which has been forwarded on to the Lawrence County prosecutor for review as, according to Parsley, the other man appeared to be the aggressor.
However, later that same morning, a 40-year-old woman called police on Bray, saying he had beat her several times in the head with a hammer.
Bray was then taken into custody on a charge of battery with a deadly weapon causing bodily injury.
The other man remains under investigation.
