(BEDFORD) - A Bedford teenager is in Jackson County juvenile lockup after he made the discovery, early this morning, that he’s allegedly an angry drunk.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News patrol officers were driving on 13th Street between I and J Streets when they found a 16-year-old male walking along the same street.
However, in a bit of serendipity, the teenager fell over, "flat on his face," right in front of them.
Officers got out to help the young man up and reportedly determined he was intoxicated, so they placed him under arrest for public intoxication and illegal consumption.
When officers went to place him in the back of their cruiser, that's when the teen decided he didn't want to go, and he allegedly yelled and fought and, while officers were forcing him into the car, he reportedly kicked one in the chest.
When he arrived back at the station, Parsley says the teen continued to spit on the floor and on officers before they took him to the Jackson County Juvenile Detention Center.
In addition to the previous charges, the teen also faces charges of resisting arrest by force, disorderly conduct, battery on an officer and battery by bodily waste.
