(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington’s Police Department is taking applications for those interested in the Citizens Police Academy that will run between September 9th and December 2nd.
The 11-week course which will meet Tuesday nights will teach citizens about the way police officers do their job including patrol techniques, drunk driving enforcement and defensive tactics, and those who complete the course will get a chance to ride on patrol with an officer prior to graduation.
People who are interested can pick up an application at the Bloomington Police Headquarters on 3rd Street in Bloomington or by going online to bloomington.in.gov, but make sure you have it in before the September 3rd deadline.
