(BEDFORD) - 4 people were hospitalized after an accident at the intersection of Lincoln and Williams in Bedford last night.
Bedford police reports show 34-year-old Kristy Sowders of Bloomington was speaking with a woman selling watermelon while stopped at the Williams Blvd. stop sign. When she went to pull across the intersection to inquire about price, she apparently pulled in front of 42-year-old Eric Taylor of Mitchell.
The report says there wasn't any way for Taylor to avoid the impact that left both drivers with incapacitating back injuries, and injured the two passengers in Sowders' minivan as well.
22-year-old Lisa Thompson complained of pain to her head, and 3-year-old Shayla Thompson was reportedly bleeding from her face.
All four people were taken to Bedford Regional Medical Center by ambulance for their injuries.
No citations were issued.
