(ELNORA) - Two local roads remain closed from June’s flooding.
IN-57 in Greene County and IN-58 in Daviess County took a major beating during the floods and rains that affected all of South Central Indiana, including washing away 125 feet of roadway on IN-57 at Simpson Ditch, and 200 feet of IN-58 near Elnora.
IN-57 is still barricaded and circumventing the barricade is both dangerous and illegal, so continue following alternate routing.
INDOT officials hope IN-57 will reopen to through traffic in mid-August.
IN-58 in Elnora, however, will be closed until mid to late September since bids for reconstruction won't be opened in Indianapolis until Wednesday.
