(GREENE COUNTY) - Indiana State Police from the Bloomington Post are investigating the shooting death of a person in Greene County’s Center Township.
According to a report in the Greene County Daily World, a man, who has not yet been identified, died from a gunshot wound, reportedly as a result of a dispute with a neighbor at a home on CR950 East south of IN-54.
Bloomington state police Sgt. Curt Durnil told the paper the man was taken by a Greene County ambulance to Bloomington Hospital late yesterday afternoon where the victim died of a gunshot wound to the head.
At last report, police still have not notified next of kin so the victim's name cannot be released, and the suspected shooter has not been identified nor arrested pending a completion of the investigation into just what happened.

The victim has been identified as 58-year-old Everett M. Smith of Bloomfield. He was shot outside his own residence. Police are continuing to investigate and no charges have been filed to this point.
