(BLOOMINGTON) - The realm of college life is no stranger to rivalries.
If you go to Iowa, you don't want to put up with those know-nothings at Iowa State.
Sooners and Cowboys have never gotten along.
And God help you if you're a Longhorn or an Aggie on the wrong side of Austin, Texas. You may not get out alive, or, at least with all your belongings in order.
But one of the 12 biggest college rivalries in the nation, as organized by Newsweek magazine, is the war in Indiana between Hoosiers and Boilermakers.
The IU/Purdue rivalry made Newsweek's list because of how it divides the state, in a good way, mostly, and because of how much fun Hoosiers, and not just the IU variety, have with it.
The magazine notes the house divided signs and flags people in Indiana fly when they have one child in Bloomington and another in West Lafayette.
Even the radio house here in Bedford is a house divided with one station, 1340 WBIW, carrying all your Purdue action, and another, SuperOldies 105.5, being a Hoosier signal.
