(MITCHELL) - Nothing sounds better than getting out to watch a high-school football practice at midnight on a Monday morning…right? Right?
Well, if you're a Mitchell Bluejacket fan, you bet you're right. In 73 degree temps early this morning, the Bluejacket football squad and more than 100 of their supporters geared up and got to work just 1 minute into the official start of the fall football season.
Coach Todd Tanksley made sure his Jackets knew their season-opening opponent, the Brownstown Central Braves, were all bravely snuggled in their beds, letting the night burn away.
41 players ran through a tunnel of fans and ran drills until a little after 1:00am this morning.
And if you're ready for Bluejacket football yourself, but would rather catch it at a more normal time of day, make sure you tune in to Z102, WPHZ as we go live, August 22nd to the home opener at Terry Cole Field with the "Big Guy" Johnny Henderson and Steven Gillespie at 7:00pm as those crazy Mitchell Bluejackets take the sleepy Brownstown Braves down.
