(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County deputies are investigating a second fatal accident from the weekend, this one with sketchy details and leaving a Bedford woman dead.
Monroe County Chief Deputy Scott Mellinger says 33-year-old Steve Hatton of Solsberry was in town visiting friends, but doesn't remember anything that happened between leaving his friends' house and getting into a wreck that killed 41-year-old Denise Bromley of Bedford.
Mellinger says it has been determined that Hatton's vehicle crossed the centerline and that Bromley apparently tried to avoid a head-on collision.
Officers say Hatton struck Bromley's driver door directly.
Hatton is currently being treated at Bloomington Hospital and deputies are still investigating what happened.
