(UNDATED) - State police are trying to get the word out to drivers that they will soon be sharing the road with the area’s deer population.
State Police Sgt. Anthony Emery says farmers are already out with fall harvest, which causes deer to move around more, and, October 1st is the start of the fall deer hunting and mating seasons.
This also causes deer populations to move around more, and, increasingly, move along and across roads.
Car-deer accidents aren't just a headache for car insurance companies, but they also can cause injury and death depending on circumstances.
