(BEDFORD) - Bedford police have one man in custody after he rolled his truck on south I Street yesterday evening.
Bedford police reports say 51-year-old Allen Evans of Bedford was heading south on I Street at the curve near 26th when he missed the turn, struck an embankment and decorative tree and flipped his pickup.
Witnesses tell police it appeared he was driving rapidly before the wreck. Police say Evans crawled out of the passenger side window and that he wasn't injured, however, he did fail sobriety testing.
Reports show Evans blew a certified 0.17% BAC, and officers also reportedly found an open container in the vehicle.
Evans was then taken to Lawrence County jail on drunk driving and open container charges.
