(INDIANAPOLIS) - A Seymour man was the driver of the truck that caused the accident that ultimately left two people dead yesterday.
State police in Indianapolis say 40-year-old Michael Summer of Seymour was driving a double-trailer FedEx truck on I-65 south in Johnson County when he struck a large wheel and tire that was in the lanes causing summer to lose control, cross the median and wind up in the northbound lanes, and 3 cars struck the second trailer.
Vania Shields of Franklin and Charles Gould III of Whiteland were the first two to hit the trailer and both were killed instantly.
Robert Grant of Whiteland and Jayme Mount of Franklin were in the third vehicle and taken to Methodist Hospital with unknown injuries.
Summer, the truck driver, was not injured.
