(BLOOMINGTON) - Officials at the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center in Bloomington have announced a public visitation for the late brother of the 14th Dalai Lama today.
Thubten Norbu, also known as Tagster Rinpoche amongst Tibetans, passed away at his Bloomington home Friday after an extended illness leaving his wife and three children behind.
Additionally, the cultural center will be hosting 49 days of prayer in his memory.
Norbu was the oldest brother of the current Dalai Lama of Tibet, and founded both the Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center and the Kumbum Chamtse Ling Temple in Bloomington.
Visitation services for Norbu will be at the temple on Snoddy Road in Bloomington today from 4:00 until 6:00pm.
