(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police have a man in custody, saying he stabbed a man on West Allen Street.
The Bloomington Herald Times reports 50-year-old Russell Hart is facing a preliminary aggravated battery charge as of Wednesday night. Police say they found a 40-year-old man earlier with a stab wound to his abdomen.
The victim reportedly told police Hart had come to his home but was not allowed inside, so he went outside to speak with him, and at one point during the conversation, Hart allegedly stabbed the man. The knife was found at the scene of the crime with no handle, but when they searched hart, they found a matching handle in his pocket.
Hart was taken to the Monroe County jail.
