(BEDFORD) - The combined Bedford Police and Lawrence County Sheriff’s drug task force added three more hash marks to their belts yesterday.
Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News drug investigations led to two busts within a half hour of each other yesterday that logged three people in the Lawrence County jail.
28-year-old Eric Bell of Bedford is charged with possession of methadone, a Schedule II substance, marijuana, paraphernalia and maintaining a common nuisance.
In that same bust, 19-year-old Chastity Turpen of Bedford was nailed for visiting a common nuisance.
Then, 30 minutes later, police arrested 57-year-old Judy Feaster of Bedford for dealing and possessing Oxycontin, a Schedule II substance, and maintaining a common nuisance.
Parsley says, by his last tally, the joint team has filed charges against 161 suspects, and there have been several more since he made that tally.
