(BLOOMINGTON) - A Spencer man was arrested for drunk driving in Lawrence County over the weekend, and that arrest has cost him his job at the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office.
According to a report in the Bloomington Herald Times, 61-year-old David Collins was picked up Sunday morning by Lawrence County officers, and booked into the jail, though no formal charges have been filed pending the result of certified intoxicant tests.
The paper says Collins, a deputy prosecutor for Monroe County, submitted his resignation, though Chief Deputy Prosecutor Bob Miller says he would have been asked to leave if he didn't, saying prosecutors are held to a higher standard.
