(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man managed to knock over a Bedford mailbox with his car and get arrested in Mitchell on unrelated charges within less than an hour’s time.
Bedford Assistant Chief Dan Kirk tells WBIW News a car knocked over a mailbox by Shorty's Den on 7th Street, and, though the victim didn't press charges, she did produce a license plate number.
About 40 minutes after the initial call, Mitchell police stopped 37-year-old Jeremy Clevener whose license plate was an exact match.
Clevener was taken in on charges of domestic battery, public intoxication and possession of paraphernalia.
Mitchell police officials weren't available to comment on the details of his arrest south of the river.
