(DUGGER) - Another potential economic development could be coming to South Central Indiana.
Near the Greene County town of Dugger, the Indiana Rail Road Company wants to install a 5-mile spur to serve a proposed surface coal mine managed by Peabody Energy Corporation.
The Greene County Daily World reports the Indiana Rail Road would build the track just east of Dugger, crossing IN-159 and then running alongside the highway.
Coal has become a bigger part of Indiana's economic conversation, especially since the development of a clean coal power plant in nearby Knox County.
