(BEDFORD) - Republican State Senator Brent Steele has made a request to Attorney General Steve Carter that he investigate gas prices in Lawrence County for possible gouging.
Although Steele's actual numbers are off in his complaint, according to gasbuddy.com who tracks gas prices in municipalities nationwide, Steele may have a point.
Gas prices in Bedford range between $2.89 and $2.93, whereas stations as close as Bloomington have gas for as low as $2.54, Columbus for $2.51, Seymour for $2.67, and, get this, Martinsville is down to $2.34.
However, if Senator Steele is right and Bedfordites and everyone else in Lawrence County are getting hosed at the pump, we're not the only Hoosiers in this situation.
People in Gary, Indiana are paying between $2.72 and $2.99 per gallon, and Mishawaka is paying as much as $2.89.
