(BEDFORD) - For our area’s state house races, nothing is new under the sun.
All of the immediate WBIW listening area's state representatives are waking up this morning with their jobs intact.
In District 62, Democratic incumbent Sandy Blanton won her closely-contested race against Republican challenger Brook Tarr. With all precincts reporting in the district, Blanton won by around 3,000 votes. Despite Blanton's incumbency, this is her first electoral win, as she was originally selected by retiring French Lick Democrat Jerry Denbo to take his seat.
For District 65, Republican Eric Koch won an easy race in an only partially-contested race against Nashville Libertarian Al Cox. No Democrat filed in that race.
Finally, in another relatively close but still decisive decision in District 73, Democrat Dennie Oxley may not have won his Lieutenant Governor's spot, but he managed to hold on to his state house seat over Republican Steve Davisson.
