(BEDFORD) - The era of free trash pickup in Bedford is over.
The Bedford City Council, at a meeting they moved to the chamber of commerce meeting room for the extra capacity, approved the trash pickup fee for city customers.
The proposal was amended slightly from a $13 monthly fee to a $12.98 monthly fee.
The fee will appear on monthly bills from Bedford Utilities.
The measure was approved unanimously with 1 absence.
The city hopes to have the plan in full working order for December.
