(UNDATED) - The WBIW listening area was originally forecast to receive its first dusting of snow this coming Saturday, though that has changed, but that means potentially slick and dangerous driving conditions are not far off, either way.
The Indiana State Police, as a result, are offering tips to keep you and your family safe during this winter driving season.
Police recommend keeping your gas tank full, since that puts extra weight on your wheels and gives you extra traction, if you're traveling long distances, check your forecast along the way and let somebody know the route your taking.
And, if worse comes to worse, keep a winter driving kit on hand.
This kit should include flashlights, blankets, batteries, sand, a shovel, jumper cables, and high-calorie food such as energy bars or granola.
