(BLOOMINGTON) - Authorities say a 16-year-old motorist who fatally struck a Monroe County Sheriff’s deputy was distracted and didn’t see the officer.
The report claims the teen told police she saw traffic pulling past a police car, so she drove onto the shoulder, where she struck Deputy Sarah Jones.
Jones was the first fatality in the history of the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
