(BEDFORD) - During a meeting to approve fuel bids for 2009, held Monday afternoon, the Bedford Board of Works and Safety had to make a choice for either Mullis Petroleum, which has been Bedford’s fuel supplier for many years, or for Jones Oil Co.
Mullis's bid offered a discount rate of 3 cents per gallon while the Jones bid was a penny cheaper at a discount rate of 4 cents per gallon.
With Jones, city officials would have the opportunity to fill up their gas at four locations in Bedford, as well as any Pilot, Speedway, or Marathon station in Indiana and some surrounding states.
Starting January 1st, all city purchases will be made at a Jones Oil Co. Station.
