(BEDFORD) - It happens once every 10 years, and it determines where federal funds go, how research is conducted, and who your congressman is.
It's census time.
The national census, which is taken every 10 years, is coming up in 2010, and is especially important in determining funding for various government projects, and, most importantly, legislative districts.
As required by the Constitution, congressional districts nationwide are reexamined after the census is taken, and an accurate count is important. Census questionnaires will be coming out before too long and will be quick and returnable by mail.
If you have any questions on the census, or would like to participate in the Lawrence County Count Committees, call the Census Bureau at (866) 861-2010.
