(UNDATED) - It’s a little cold outside, isn’t it? Cold enough, at least, for a few winter weather warnings and advisories.
For the southern half of the WBIW listening area, including Orange, Washington and Crawford Counties, a wind chill advisory was scheduled through 9:00am this morning.
The cold temps outside combined with the prevailing winds are dropping perceived temperatures south of 10 below zero, and, if you're not bundled up enough, you could be in trouble of hypothermia and even frostbite.
For the far northern slice of the WBIW listening area, including Owen and Morgan Counties, that same wind chill advisory is scheduled until 10:00am this morning.
Additionally, throughout the entire listening area, tomorrow and Wednesday could bring some more precarious winter weather in the form of snow and mixed storms.
National Weather Service meteorologists are forecasting warm air from the south landing on top of the already frigid air we're currently dealing with, and, they say, that is the perfect conditions for winter storms.
So make sure you keep tuned to the Winter Weather Watchers on 1340 WBIW for info on severe weather conditions and the latest on closings, cancellations and delays.
