(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Community School Board has sold off 60-acres of land to the Hoosier National Forest.
The Bedford Times-Mail reports the $141,000 dollar transaction sent a 60 acre parcel in the southwestern corner of the county to the national forest that the land borders against.
The paper says some of the money will go instantly into funding scholarships, and the rest will be invested so that the interest can fund future scholarships for Mitchell students.
