(UNDATED) - Last night’s icy weather continues to have repercussions on travel conditions in the WBIW listening area this afternoon.
Although all winter weather warnings, watches and advisories in the southern half of Indiana have been cancelled, a hazardous weather outlook has been distributed by the National Weather Service.
For the entire listening area, NWS meteorologists currently say untreated roads will remain hazardous today as temperatures are not expected to get above freezing, and some listeners may see a flurry or two, however, nothing should accumulate.
Rain is in the forecast for sure tomorrow, and as it gets later in the day, that rain stands a better chance of freezing.
Current icy conditions have canceled school at most school corporations in the listening area, and delays for most of the rest. And, currently, a number of churches have been contacting WBIW to cancel evening services.
However, the Red Ribbon Award Ceremony scheduled for 4:30 this evening at the courthouse will proceed as planned.
For the most current list of closings cancellations and delays, keep listening to 1340 WBIW or check out the Winter Weather Watchers page at WBIW.com.
