(OOLITIC) - It may not have been the barn of Ol’ Mother O’Leary, but it was a barn on fire in Oolitic yesterday evening.
The Oolitic Police Department reports a barn on the 800 block of Delsea Street on the far south side of the town yesterday caught fire, and the barn, the tractor, the hay and the miscellaneous tools inside were all a loss.
Lawrence County police originally got the call and dispatched Oolitic, Shawswick and other available firefighters to the scene.
However, once the fire was out, that isn't the end of the story. Shortly after the fire, the Bedford police received a call from a parent of a 13-year-old boy, saying he had been involved in the fire.
Oolitic Town Marshal Jon Jeffries was contacted, and, in the end two 13-year-old boys were charged with arson and released to their parents.
