(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Security Center scared off an “unwelcome delivery” Saturday night.
Bedford police were called to assist Lawrence County jailers to a call of a man wearing a mask and hoodie trying to enter the Lawrence County jail.
Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig tells WBIW that, due to the jail's downtown location, people trying to sneak contraband into the jail via various means isn't that uncommon of an occurrence.
Craig says, usually, people try to sneak cigarettes and marijuana into the jail. Saturday night's suspected deliveryman was not caught despite a chase by county jailers.
However, Sunday morning, logs indicate Bedford police reported that they found a matching mask and hoodie at a home near the 1600 block of H Street.
