(BLOOMINGTON) - The Bloomington Police Department has released more details in the shooting that involved a Bloomington police officer downtown last week.
The information released shows at least a second officer saw the incident as it happened, and saw the teenager run at the cop with a knife drawn after disobeying commands to drop the weapon.
Bloomington Officer John Coleman has been identified as the officer that drew and fired, striking the teen twice in the torso.
Officer George Connelly has been identified as the second officer on scene, and as a witness to the bulk of the incident in question.
So far, the wounds the 16-year-old suffered have not been found to be life threatening.
