(NEEDMORE) - A Lake Wales, Florida man lost his life in an accident on Washboard Road early this morning.
Lawrence County police reports say 25-year-old James Reeves of Lake Wales, Florida was headed westbound on Washboard Road when he ran off the right side of the road, went over an embankment, became airborne for about 20 feet, struck a well house and rolled to a stop.
Marshall Township fire crews were the first on scene at the wreck that happened around 1:30 this morning, and worked with the unconscious Reeves until an ambulance could arrive, however, when they got there, they determined his injuries were fatal.
Lawrence County Coroner John Sherill pronounced Reeves dead on the scene, and then accompanied Captain Hettle and Chaplain Nikirk of the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department to the Springville address the vehicle was registered to, and where Reeves' parents lived, informing them of what had happened.
The parents accompanied officials to the city morgue and identified the body of Reeves, in the end.
Drug and alcohol tests are currently underway on Reeves as is standard practice, and they usually take a couple weeks to get back.
