(SEYMOUR) - Seymour Mayor Craige Luedeman says the whole community is buzzing about their newest celebrity, 2009 Miss America Katie Stam.
Luedeman says the city has created a committee to plan homecoming festivities as well as other ways the city can celebrate and capitalize on Katie's success. Posters have been printed for businesses to display in their showrooms. Banners will be placed around town and the city is planning to post signs at the town limits showcasing Katie and her success.
Luedeman says the state is planning a homecoming parade in March, and Seymour will try to plan theirs in coordination with other activities.
Luedeman says the city will do what ever it can within the confines of their budget to support and showcase Katie and her hometown.
