(WILLIAMS) - State police had a productive New Year’s Day when they turned up around 20 pounds of marijuana and $10,000 cash at a home in Williams.
State Police Sgt. Curt Durnil says they received a tip reporting marijuana use at a home on the 3200 block of Port Williams Road and when officers checked it out, they said they could smell the odor of raw marijuana coming from the home.
Police obtained a warrant and four state troopers as well as Oolitic Town Marshall Bill Allen found 20 pounds of raw pot, materials used in the growing, sale and distribution of said drugs, and about $10,000 dollars cash.
One thing they didn't find, however, was people.
As a result, the investigation continues.
