(BLOOMINGTON) - The troubled economy may be the reason more students are going to college.
Undergraduate enrollment at IU is up 5.5% over spring semester 2008. IU's provost for enrollment management, Roger Thompson, says typically when the economy takes a downturn you see more enrollment in high education.
This past Monday, 37,761 students were enrolled on the Bloomington campus.
