(BEDFORD) - Despite all the bad news coming out of Detroit regarding layoffs and cuts and other cost-cutting measures from car-giant General Motors, the Bedford Powertrain plant, so far, has seemed to have escaped.
Joe Macrino with the personnel department at GM Powertrain in Bedford tells WBIW News that the layoff announcements have not affected the Stone City plant, including the layoffs announced late last year that were intended to be targeted at the powertrain and stamping divisions.
However, Macrino says that may change next week, as he indicated he should be receiving further information then.
However, that could just as easily mean that everybody is still safe.
