(BEDFORD) - The Indiana Department of Transportation has given Bedford a big, healthy present for a project in the works for the past few years.
INDOT says they have awarded the City of Bedford $2.67 million in Local Public Agency Group III funding for the Plaza Drive project.
The Stone City is still responsible for 20% of the overall cost of the project.
A total of $4.8 million in Group III funds was awarded by the INDOT panel in Indianapolis, the rest went to 4 other municipalities.
Group III funds are intended for communities with a population between 5,000 and 50,000 outside of urbanized areas.
