(CHICAGO, IL) - The City of Bloomington isn’t commonly known as a city of football, but many forget that one of the NFL’s most significant quarterbacks not only is a native, but still lives there during the off-season.
However, now, that quarterback may have no one to throw to as of midnight tonight.
Chicago Bears quarterback Rex Grossman will enter the free agency when it opens up tonight, and Bears coach Lovie Smith has told Chicago media he does not plan to pick him back up.
Grossman started tossing the pigskin as varsity quarterback at Bloomington South High School, went on to start for the Florida Gators, and was picked up in the 1st round of the draft by Chicago.
However, a season-ending leg injury in 2004 has hurt his play, and many say his current inconsistencies are a result of that.
Currently, there's no word on what, if any, move will be Grossman's next.
