(BLOOMINGTON) - A man accused of shooting and killing his wife in December of 2007 at a home near Lake Monroe has pleaded guilty.
The Bloomington Herald Times reports 69-year-old Ronald Lewis of Bloomington told the Monroe Circuit Court on Friday he did kill his wife, 59-year-old Laura Lewis.
Lewis pleaded to voluntary manslaughter, which is a lesser charge than murder, and usually involves a "heat of the moment" type situation.
Murder typically involves either premeditation or a killing in the commission of another crime such as burglary, rape or arson.
