(BEDFORD) - An old-school football legend will be coming to Bedford and Mitchell this coming Wednesday in an effort to help keep kids off drugs.
Cornerback Allan Ellis, who played for the Chicago Bears from 1973 to 1980 with Bears legends Dick Butkus and Mike Singletary will be dropping in for lunch at Bedford North Lawrence and Mitchell High Schools Wednesday.
Amy Kirkpatrick with the Local Coordinating Council for Lawrence County tells us Ellis will be signing autographs and making the stops as part of a trip funded by a group called Public Safety Publications, which aims to sell a book to help keep kids away from drugs.
